Sidney R. Fisher, 85, of Homer, NY went home to meet Jesus on February 15, 2023.
Sidney was born on June 26, 1937, the youngest of three children, to Sidney A. and Jessie Burroughs Fisher in Cortland, NY.  He grew up and lived his life in Spafford, NY.  After graduating from Homer High School, he continued the family career in dairy farming.  He married Nancy Hamm in 1961.  They were blessed with one daughter, Deborah.  Sid and Nancy sold their farm in the late 1980’s and he went to work for Fesko Farms until he retired 3 years ago. Sid was an avid outdoors-man who loved hunting and fishing.  Another passion of his was gardening.  He was a volunteer in the Spafford Fire Department and a member of Borodino United Methodist Church.
Sidney was predeceased by his wife Nancy, his parents, his brother Gilbert (Grace, Sally) Fisher, and his sister Ruby (Howard) Sweet.  Sidney is survived by his daughter, Dr. Deborah Fisher (Lawrence Carney), and his two grandsons, Tyler Carney and Tucker Carney.  He is also survived by his significant other, Suzanne Hutchinson, and other loving family members.
Sid enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Young and old enjoyed Sid’s fun-loving spirit and great sense of humor. In the words of Jody Fisher, “Sid was and forever will be a great man!”
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 11am at the Borodino United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Borodino United Methodist Church, Skaneateles, NY. To send condolences, visit robertdgrayfuneralhome.com.

Junior was a great neighbor. Reliable and strong in morality and character. He, Nancy and Debbie were a cornerstone of my upbringing. I appreciate, and will sorely miss, the time we spent together in our loving community. I find myself pondering all of the nicknames Junior had for all of us "kids" both young and old... They were badges of honor of which I will treasure for the remainder of my days. God Speed. Rest in peace.

Sid was like a member of our family, A great help in very trying years. Always an “others first” kind of man. I will miss his counsel and loving ways.

He was so easy to be with and a real joy to know. Just his name in a conversation brought a smile. Rest in peace Sid. We miss you.

I met Sid when I bought his farm. I have always admired Sid for his kindness and integrity. He helped me in many ways and his numerous suggestions prevented me from having to "learn things the hard way". He will be missed by many.
