Catherine "Katie" Bowe

Catherine M. Bowe, 94, passed away on March 17th at Auburn Community Hospital. Katie was born and raised in Skaneateles Falls. She worked for several years at the Waterbury Felt Company. Katie also loved singing with the Skaneateles Seniors. She is predeceased by her first husband Michael DiBagio in WWII, and her husband Charles Bowe. Katie is survived by her Sons Thomas (Julie) DiBagio and Bruce (Ellen) Bowe, 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, March 21st from 4 to 7pm at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday March 22nd at 10am at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Skaneateles. Katie will be buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Westminster Manor, 81 South St, Auburn, NY 13021 or Skaneateles Lake Limo, 75 Fennell St. Skaneateles, NY 13152

Denis Patrick "Chip" Harrington, of Skaneateles, passed away suddenly on March 12, 2017. Denis graduated from Skaneateles High School and LeMoyne College. At the time of his passing, Denis was employed by the Harrington Metz Company as well as the Skaneateles Town Car Company. In the past, he was employed by early electronic companies, such as Elcom Sales, Skan-A-Matic, and held a corporate position in Rochester. Chip loved spending time on the lake, especially with his daughters, cousins, family, and friends. He had an interest in boats and navigated fishing expeditions for Lakeview Charters in Skaneateles. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Skaneateles. Chip was a parishioner of St. Mary's of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, where he was also an usher. Denis is survived by his beloved daughters, Elizabeth (Tony) Traiforos, of Germantown, MD, and Robin (Nate) North, of Skaneateles. He is also survived by his two precious grandchildren, Antonia and Nicholas. Denis is also survived by his loving father, Denis J. Harrington, of Skaneateles. He is survived by his brother, John (Lynn) Harrington, and three sisters: Kathleen (Tom) Austin, Kelly (Joe) O'Hara, and Mary (Rob) Metz, of Skaneateles, who already miss their kind, caring, fun loving big brother. Denis also leaves behind eleven excellent nieces and nephews, admiring cousins, and numerous dear friends, far and near. If you were lucky enough to know him, you were lucky enough! Calling hours are 4-7 pm on Thursday, March 16, at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, March 17, 2017, at St. Mary's of the Lake Church, followed by a luncheon. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery, in Auburn, NY, following the luncheon. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family.

Ruby Jean Fisher Sweet

 Ruby Jean Fisher Sweet, 89, of Sennett, passed away in her sleep, Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Commons in Auburn, New York.
Ruby, daughter of Sidney A. and Jessie M. Fisher, was born and raised in Spafford, New York.  She graduated from Scott Union School in 1945, and graduated from Cortland Business Institute.  For a time, she lived in Dryden, New York working at Dryden Union School with her dear friend and eventual sister-in-law, Lillian (Bondie) Sweet.  In 1947 she married Howard D. Sweet, and moved back to Spafford.  For years, she was a homemaker to her husband and 3 daughters.  She enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking, and taking care of their pets.  She and Howard enjoyed being with friends and dancing.  After her daughters were older, Ruby took a job in a dental office in Marcellus; then was a receptionist for a chiropractor in Auburn.  She and her husband Howard were members of the Borodino Grange where they participated in many dinners and stage productions.   She was an active member of the Borodino United Methodist Church before moving to Sennett, New York in 1992.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Howard D. Sweet; her parents, Sidney A. and Jessie M. Fisher; and her brother Gilbert Fisher. She is survived by:  her brother, Sidney R. Fisher of Spafford; daughters Sandra S. Price (Jerry) of Oak Ridge, Tn., Susan A. Card (David) of Skaneateles, and Sherry S. Lanning (Jeff) of Borodino.  She leaves several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Borodino United Methodist Church on Friday, May 19th at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts can be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, Auburn, NY or Borodino Methodist Church, Skaneateles, NY.
