 Kathryn E. Bettis, 77, of Skaneateles, passed away on November 27 at Upstate University Hospital @ CG after a long illness. Born in Syracuse, to the late Arthur and Eileen Greenway, she retired from Skaneateles Central Schools where she was a custodian, and also ran Sandy Beach for several years. She graduated from CCBI with a business degree. She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Lake Church and its prayer chain and also volunteered with the Laker Limo. She faithfully followed all of her grandchildren’s sporting and life events.
Kathryn is survived by her husband of 54 years John; children Kathleen Bettis-Corgnell, Christine (Jim) Brown and A. David (Janice) Bettis. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Amanda Edwards, Samantha and Sara Brown, Michael and Kayla Corgnell, Katie, Jacob and Benjamin Bettis along with sisters Constance D’Aoust and Geraldine MacLachlan and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday December 1, at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Skaneateles. Friends and family may call on the family from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday November 30 at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SAVES

Raymond Joseph Motell

Raymond Joseph Motell, 81 of Marietta NY passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14, 2016 at VanDyne in Syracuse, NY.
Raymond was born on April 8, 1935. He is survived by his lovely wife Judy (Whaley) Motell of 57 years and his four children which he was very proud of - Ronald E. Motell (Patti, Cody, Gina, Kiya and Rocky), Douglas R. Motell (Geri Ann, Kyle and Travis) Elaine M. Sciortino (Frank, Michael, Jennifer, Stephanie, Emma, Jonathan, Eva, Tia and Taz), and Dennis M. Motell (Kara, Tyler, Sydney). A sister Lee-eta Motell.
Raymond has joined his beautiful Granddaughter Naomi L. Wells in heaven where they will live in eternity.
Raymond worked at Carrier Corporation, a very proud accomplishment for 37 years as a pipefitter in the Maintenance Department. He loved his yard to look very neat and polished, loved hunting and fishing in the day and loved a big family garden for all to share. He also made the best jam in town!
Raymond served in the U.S. Army and was proud to be a Veteran.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 22nd from 5-7pm at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday November 23rd at 10am at the funeral home. Ray will be buried in Thorn Hill Cemetery, Rose Hill.

 Mary K. Laskowski, 65, of Skaneateles, NY, went to the Lord peacefully on Saturday November 5, 2016 surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous 4- year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born in Erie, PA., to the late Thomas and Gwendolyn Blanchard Lowry. She graduated from Edinboro University with a Master’s degree in Education which led to her love of children as a teacher at Stonehedge Elementary for 19 years.
Mary loved to travel, shop, watch movies, go to lunch with the girls and spend time at the lake with family. She loved going to the theater to see Broadway Shows and Musicals, especially when her son Ian was performing.
She truly was the salt of the earth always putting family and friends before herself and her needs.  
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Robert, sons Andrew (Anne) and Ian and greatly anticipated grandchild. She also leaves behind her siblings Patrick (Rita) Lowry, Susan (Hans) Sass and John (Mary Ann) Lowry along with many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday November 10, at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Skaneateles, NY. Relatives and friends may call on the family from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday November 9, at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, 49 Jordan St., Skaneateles, NY.
Memorial donations in Mary’s memory may be made to either St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The Lustgarden Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer.
