Josephine “Fine” C. Beck, 96, of Skaneateles, NY passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 29, 2023, in Fleming Island, FL.  Fine was born to Wubbo Spelde and Josephina van den Hoogen in Pekalongan, Indonesia on June 1, 1926.
After surviving WWII, in separate Japanese concentration camps for 4 years, Fine and her parents were reunited and returned to the Netherlands where she studied and became a nurse.  In Amsterdam, she met Richard “Dick” Beck and they married on July 23, 1954.  Fine, Dick, and their two daughters (sponsored by the Skaneateles Presbyterian Church) immigrated to the USA in 1963 and settled in Skaneateles, NY.
There they grew their family and actively participated in the church and the community.  Fine loved people, especially children.  She was a Girl Scout Leader and an active member in the Skaneateles Presbyterian Church.   She volunteered in the nursery, participated in the circle and church fair committees, and served as a Deacon and Elder.
Josephine loved her flower gardens and, with Richard, expanded the vegetable garden her father had started for her when he and her mother visited from Holland for a year.  Fine and Dick loved to travel and made friends wherever they went.  They started by motorcycling through Europe and the Alps when they were newly married.  Then they traveled throughout the United States and enjoyed camping with their children.  They toured Hawaii, Canada, Europe, Scandinavia, and Indonesia throughout their retirement, visiting family and friends.
Josephine had a beautiful, positive outlook on life.  She will be remembered for her kind words and encouragement in all the cards and letters she wrote to family and friends, her thoughtfulness, caring attitude, and willingness to help people.  She was always thankful and considered herself very blessed.  Being an only child, she was so proud of having a large family.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard Beck and dedicated daughter, Charlotte Fragale.
She will be missed by her daughters and their husbands:  Josephine and George Schiazza, Caroline and Mark Pantaleo, Patricia and Michael Riley, Frances and David Glanville Jr.; her sixteen grandchildren and their spouses; her fifteen great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law; her nieces and nephews, her cousins, her friends, and all the individuals she "adopted" along the way.
To celebrate Josephine's life there will be two services held at: Russell Haven of Rest in Green Cove Springs, FL on February 11, 2023, at 11 am, followed by a luncheon.
Skaneateles Presbyterian Church on June 3, 2023, at 11 am, followed by a luncheon. Robert D. Gray Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Josephine C. Beck's memory to: Haven Hospice, Skaneateles Presbyterian Church, The Girl Scouts of America, Meals on Wheels Eastern Onondaga County.

My deepest sympathy to Fine's entire family. I so enjoyed talking with her when I worked at The Manor. She will definitely be missed by all who knew her.

We were deeply touched by both Fine and Dick. She was nurturing, always spirited and positive, kind and engaging. We got to know her (and Dick) through First Presbyterian Church and were always grateful to be around her. She lit up any room she occupied. She was a deeply faithful woman and served God, her community and church with love and compassion. When Kim was a Deacon driver for the church, we frequently would pick Fine and Dick up to take them to church. We cherished the time in the car to catch up with them and to get a bit of a peek into their fascinating lives. Fine would occasionally invite us in when we dropped them off and when we took her up on the offer we were always blessed with their hospitality and engagement. The world is diminished by Fine’s passing.

Fine was one of the first persons who welcomed me in the Presbyterian Church Women's group when we moved there in 1985. Have never forgotten her kindness and wonderful smile. Our condolences to all her family. Mary & Carl (Allen) Gilmore

We had the great pleasure to meet Oma Fine over 12 years ago at the wedding of our son and daughter. Oma Fine was a very thoughtful person, a very kind person, a loving wife, an adored mother, a beloved Grandmother and Great Grandmother. We were honored to have Oma Fine visit several times over the years at our farm when the grandchildren were here. She enjoyed every aspect of life; she had an abundance of knowledge that she shared with us all. I remember her and her husband at the wedding. The little pat of the hand and she'd bend toward him, and they would whisper. All the dreams, all the joys, all the memories that come with a life well lived she was blessed to share with so many and so many were blessed because she was in their lives. Lauren, Josie you know how special you are to me, I can never thank you enough for sharing Oma Fine with David and me. Our prayers go out to you and yours.

I have wondered about Josephine Beck, as I haven't seen her since the onset of Covid. As a driver for FISH (Friend In Service Here), I looked forward to the days when Josephine was a passenger on my list. Her conversations were always upbeat and so interesting. What an amazing history she had and a good and long life. My condolences to her family.

Mrs. Beck was the greatest neighbor. Always there to help in a pinch as we were growing up. It was a treat to visit her and the Becks throughout the years, and to exchange holiday treats. She was filled with warmth and joy, and is missed. My heartfelt condolences for the Beck sisters and her grandchildren.

I just want to say Thank You to everyone who supported me through the years. My name is Manuel Franco, New Berlin, Wisconsin. My story of how I won the Powerball lottery of $768.4M is a bit of a tale. I have been playing Powerball tickets for 6 years now since I turned 18. I bought my first ticket on my 18 birthday. I was feeling very lucky that day because I had contacted Dr. Odunga Michael to help me with the winning Powerball numbers. I really had that great great feeling that I looked at the camera wanting to wink at it. I only did a tiny part of it and trusted him. He gave me the numbers after I played a couple other tickets along with it for $10. I checked my ticket after the winnings came online and saw the numbers were correct including the Power play. I screamed for about 10 minutes because it felt like a dream. I had won $768.4M. You can check my winning testimony with the lottery officials just with my name search. Thank you Dr Michael. Well, his email is odungaspelltemple@gmail.com and you can also call or Whats-app him at +2348167159012 so you guys can contact him
