James moved from Houston, TX to San Diego, CA, and then lived in Naples, FL for 23 years where he owned and operated a Construction and Real Estate Development company. During semi-retirement, James lived and worked in Grand Caymans and Newfoundland, Canada while commuting to Skaneateles, New York where he lived the last 8 years. James was loved by many, always looked for the best in others, and was ever committed to his faith in Jesus Christ. James was an avid fisherman, traveling much of the world to catch that next big fish or “Big Sloppy Snook” as he would say.
James is survived by his wife, Jodell of Skaneateles, NY, daughters, Lindsey (Travis) Cook of Portland, ME, Jenna (Kevin) Elkins of Nashville, TN, and son, Ryan (Caitlin) McVey of Nashville, TN, 3 grandchildren, Connor and Annabelle Elkins, and Charlie Parker McVey, his sister, Patsy (Edward) Flint, his brother, Glenn (Jana) McVey, Brother in law, Edward Plato, all of Texas, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Debra Mcvey Plato.
