Jim was born on November 6, 1956 in Cortland, NY to Kathryn Greenfield Aldrich and Fred R. Aldrich. He worked as a contractor for many years in the Cortland, Skaneateles and Auburn areas. He was an artist as well, designing and creating many unique items for his home over the years; many useful, some whimsical.
He is survived by his sisters, Linda (Mike) VanSteenburg, Bev Berry, brother, Jerry Aldrich, and many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. He was blessed to have several dear friends who enriched his life while assisting him with meals, rides and visits over the years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fredrick Greenfield and Gaylord Greenfield.
Jim’s deep faith sustained him throughout his eight year battle with cancer. His positive attitude brought fun and laughter to those around him. He was a fighter. He was an inspiration.
The family thanks the wonderful staff and volunteers while Jim was in hospice care at Matthew House in Auburn and the staff at Crown Park Nursing Home in Cortland for their kindness and compassion during Jim’s stay. We are grateful for their dedication in caring for others.
Memorial service will be held privately in God’s beautiful nature. Condolences can be sent to Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles, NY https://www.robertgrayfuneralhome.com.
