Gary R. Cornue

Gary R. Cornue, 56, of Weedsport passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Gary was a graduate of Tully High School and a Navy Veteran. He was a cook at Devaney’s Grill in Weedsport and was a commander at the Skaneateles Falls American Legion Post 317. Gary loved to play pool, which he often did with his fellow legionaries.
Gary is predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Trudy and sister-in-law, Lory Cornue. He is survived by his siblings; John (Tina), JoAnn (Robert) Sperber, Mark (Irene); several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 4 to 6pm at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home. A committal service will be held on Tuesday at 10am at the Onondaga County Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Howlett Hill Rd, Syracuse.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary’s memory may be made to CNY Alzheimer’s Association; 441 West Kirkpatrick Street

It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love; and when it happens , the thought of never again being able to talk to, laugh with, or hold your love one can be most difficult to bear. That pain is not necessarily erased by being told that your love one is up in heaven. The bible, holds a out a much different hope. At Job 14:14,15, it says that the God of comfort Jehovah, yearns to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them alive on earth. I really hope this thought brings family and friends comfort.
