Born 6/6/1933 in Elmira NY to Hartley & Buena (Earl) Shoemaker passed away at his home in Spafford NY on December 18th surrounded by family.
He was in NY State National Guard for 6 years. He was a long-time member of Spafford Fire Department and served 18 years as Fire Commissioner. He was a 54-year member of Operating Engineers, local 545.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Barbara (Cole) Shoemaker, his four children Michael, Nancy (Mike) Tierney, Joel (Cheryl), Matthew (Tammy) Shoemaker, a sister Sharon Chiang, as well as 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.
Burial will be in Spafford Cemetery in the spring at family discretion.
