Catherine Whiting, 92, of 3 Elson Lane, Skaneateles died August 11th at Auburn Community Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Donald, sons Joseph (Diana), Andrew (Roberta), Daniel and daughter Jeri. She was a loving and giving wife and mother and a supportive grandmother to Heather, Gabriella and Nakeeya Whiting and great grandmother to Ella Christensen. She is also survived by her niece Linda Wheat, friend and caregiver Linda Pientka and her two cats ‘Tweety and Sylvester’. She was a woman of strength, character, intellect and class with a wonderful sense of humor and an infectious laugh. She was always available for her family and her family was always available for her. A special note of gratitude to the staff on the 5th floor at The Commons on St. Anthony in Auburn for the special care that has been shown to both our parents.
She was born and raised in Norwich New York, moving to Skaneateles after her marriage. Until her retirement she worked for the law firm of Milford, Lynch & Shannon. Her main joy was her husband and her family. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed searching for antiques, bargain hunting, camping and cross country skiing with her husband.
