Barbara Schreck Kimak

Barbara S. Kimak, 93, of Auburn, died Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the home of her daughter, Karen. Born in Auburn, she met and married Joe Kimak, and together they owned and operated Kimak’s Atlantic Service station. Barbara retired from Mercy Hospital’s payroll department and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing Bridge with friends, square dancing, and golfing at Highland Country Club. She was also a volunteer at the Gavras Center and the Board of Elections. She was a communicant of St. Alphonsus Church.
She was predeceased by husband Joseph; parents, Elizabeth and Karl Schreck; siblings, Karl Schreck, Jeanne Schofield, Elizabeth Painter, and Dorothy Schreck.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph (Mary Alice), James (Christine); two daughters Karen Fedorchuk and Linda (Kenneth) Ryan; 13 Grandchildren, 6 Great-grandchildren with one due in September, her sister, Mary Gray, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 27th at 10am at St. Alphonsus Church in Auburn. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4pm to 7pm at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s School 89 E. Genesee St. Auburn, NY, 13021

It was a great pleasure for me to have taken care of Barb for over a year. I grew very close to her and loved her like a mother. I will miss her more than words can say.

Condolences to your family. May you receive comfort from the word of God during this time of loss. Acts 24:15 says there will be a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous. Can you imagine the joy of Martha and Mary when Jesus raised Lazarus back to life?—Read John 11:21-24, 38-44. Revelation 21:3,4 promises that one day death, mourning, and outcry will be no more. My most sincerest condolences to the family of Mary Lou. There is such a wonderful hope found at Acts 24:15 in regards to a resurrection. Also, you can have a hope of seeing Mary Lou again.
