A lifelong resident of Syracuse, she was a graduate of Nottingham High School and 35-year employee of Roth Bros Smelting Plant until her retirement. She was an avid Mahjong and Scrabble Player along with being a lifelong fan of Syracuse University Sports Teams.
A fighter to the end, Ruth lived her life as a compassionate and selfless individual who was always there for her family and friends through laughter and sorrow, through good times and bad. Most importantly was her love, adoration, mentoring and endless devotion to her 6 grandchildren; Brandon, Devin, Amanda, Erica, Christopher and Lawrence.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Burton A. Golden, in 1969 and sisters, Arlene Mintz and Barbara LeFevre. She is survived by her son, Craig M. (Susan W.) Golden and daughters Mindy B. (Pat) Gray and Lee Ann Russo along with her brother Norman Gordon and sisters Rosalie Battaglia and Lynne Bartosch.
Funeral services will be at 11am on Friday, April 12th at Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles. Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11am prior to the service. Burial will be private at Workman’s Circle Cemetery, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Ruth’s name to MS Resources PO Box 237 East Syracuse, NY 13057 a charity she passionately supported.
