Myron D. Egtvedt

Myron D. Egtvedt, 87 of Skaneateles passed away on July 29th at Upstate University Hospital. Myron retired from GE as an Electrical Engineer. He was a proud member of MasterWorks Chorale, and GE Retirees Elfun volunteers. He was also an ADK 46er and an Eagle Scout. He loved the outdoors and his activities included sailing, cross-country and downhill skiing, hiking, and canoeing. Myron is pre-deceased by his sister Patricia, brother Art, and step-son Philip. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Barbara, step-children William Epp and Melissa Epp, his brother Claire Egtvedt, 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 7th at 11:00 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Skaneateles. Myron will be buried in Amber Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in his name can be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 37 West Genesee St., Skaneateles or to MasterWorks Chorale, PO Box 731, Skaneateles, NY 13152.

Dear Mrs. Egtvedt,
I want to offer my sincere condolences to you on the loss of your husband. Death is such a difficult thing I know this all too well...but please take comfort in the fact that there is a hope for the future to see our loved ones again - John 5:28,29 says that 'all those in the memorial tombs will come out'. I know this has brought me and my family much comfort and I hope it does the same for you and your family.

It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love; and when it happens , the thought of never again being able to talk to, laugh with, or hold your love one can be most difficult to bear. That pain is not necessarily erased by being told that your love one is up in heaven. The bible, holds a out a much different hope. At Job 14:14,15, it says that the God of comfort Jehovah, yearns to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them alive on earth. I really hope this thought brings family and friends comfort.
