Born in Auburn, John was a resident of Melbourne, Florida and spent summers at Skaneateles Lake. He was predeceased by his parents John P. and Mary Carpenter Doyle of Auburn, and brother James C. Doyle of Alexandria, Virginia. He was corporate secretary, corporate council and assistant to president at Red Star at Red Star Express Lines prior to opening his own law practice in Auburn, NY. He was affiliated with Boyle & Anderson, P.C. at the end of his law career,
until his retirement.
John was a graduate of the first class of Mt. Carmel High School in Auburn and did his undergraduate work at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio where he was a member of the varsity basketball team. He earned an LL.B. degree from University at Buffalo Law School.
A member of Sacred Heart Church in Auburn and St. Mary’s Church in Rockledge, FL, he was also a member of the Cayuga County Bar Association, JFK Div. #1 Ancient Order of Hibernians, Knights of Columbus Council #207, and the Elks Lodge #474. John was a former member of Dutch Hollow Country Club and Highland Park Golf Club.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tuesday, March 8th at Sacred Heart Church with the celebrant Fr. Lou Vasile. The Robert D. Gray Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
