John “Jack” Colgan McNeil II, 57, of Cortland, NY, passed away peacefully early in the morning on Saturday, April 3rd, after courageously battling a long illness. He is survived by his son, John Colgan McNeil III (Elizabeth); daughters, Nora McNeil Kszystyniak (Josh) and Emily McNeil; sisters, Martha Auster (Moe) and Maureen Wermers (Dan); brother James McNeil (Molly) and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, John Colgan McNeil, and mother, Henrietta Huxford McNeil.
Jack was a graduate of Vestal High School and Niagara University. He went on to work as a carpenter for McNeil Development Co. in Cortland, NY, where he loved working with his cousin and best friend, David McNeil. An avid and skilled skier, Jack served for 10 years as a senior member of the Labrador Mountain Ski Patrol, where he could be seen on the slopes every Christmas Eve dressed as Santa Claus. He also volunteered at the Skaneateles Ski Club, where he taught his three children to ski.
Jack was an incredible father to his son and daughters, lifting them up and supporting them in everything they did. He was that special kind of person who always sought to put others’ needs before his own. Jack was also a master storyteller known for his sense of humor. His laughter, kindness and generosity will be cherished by all those fortunate enough to have known and loved him.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in his name to the Skaneateles Ski Club and Francis House in Syracuse, NY.

Jack will be laid to rest in Skaneateles at St. Mary's Cemetery on April 7th, preceded by a private service at St. Mary’s of the Lake. Friends may celebrate his life and express their condolences from 5 – 7PM Tuesday, April 6, at the Robert D. Gray Funeral Home, Skaneateles.

My condolences to the McNeil family. Jack you suffered long and hard and can now rest in peace. I looked forward to the days that you were on my schedule, you always managed to make my day a little more interesting. I will miss our discussions about golf and skiing, I know that somewhere up there, you are attacking a mogul! I hope we meet up again one day. Your former transport driver.

Jack’s presence on this earth was a real blessing to all who knew him. He and I didn’t always agree on unimportant issues, but he sure could argue his point! He was instrumental in improvements to our patrol room at Lab- helping to make our space more usable and enjoyable. Once I got to know him better I learned that he was the unofficial mayor of Cortland. He faced his later years with courage and grace. I’m glad I got to know him.

How many testimonies do you need to read before you can contact the spiritualist to help you with the problem you are facing that makes life look choked and undeserving? Are you passing through pregnancy problems? Or maybe you want to get back your ex lover or get a big promotion in your office? I only needed to see Dr ANOKOKUDO to help me with my pregnancy problems and my help came to me. I promised if I got pregnant that I would also come online to share my experience with the world so others who are facing similar situations will get to know that there is a solution to every situation. My name is Millie Watson and I am from Arizona, USA. If you have been reading all I have said, I just want to thank Dr Anokokudo for helping me after 8 years of infertility since I got married in 2014. I gave birth to a wonderful baby boy on Dec 5 2022 and I will share this testimony of his work in my life to anywhere help is needed. You can contact Dr Anokokudo with his email [email protected] to help you with any problem you are facing and I promise you will be happy to also help others. Thank you extremely once again sir
