Elizabeth Scott “Betsy” Boudreau, 72, died on February 15th, 2021, in Auburn, NY, after a brief illness.
Betsy was born on July 11, 1948, in Aurora, IL, the first child of Dr. Robert and Elizabeth (Davis) Boudreau, long-time residents of Skaneateles, NY.  She spent her childhood in Philadelphia, PA, London, UK, Towson, MD, and DeWitt, NY. She graduated from Jamesville-Dewitt High School in 1966 and Marymount Manhattan College in 1971. She received a Master’s degree in Art History from Villa Schifonia in Florence, Italy.  She worked in the art and antiques business in New York City, including employment with Hanns Weinberg at the Antique Porcelain Company of New York, Inc. and Philip Colleck at Philip Colleck Ltd. For many years, she assisted Hyde Park Antiques at the Winter Antique Show at the Park Avenue Armory. She specialized in 18th century French and English furniture and Continental porcelain. She enjoyed sharing her knowledge of art and antiques through programs and lectures at Parson’s School of Design, Syracuse University, and local events. After returning to central New York, she embraced the community of Auburn. She worked for many years in the Home Décor department at Lowes, served as a substitute teacher, volunteered at the Calvary Food Pantry, where she helped edit the Heroes for Hunger newspaper column, and served on the Board of Trustees of the Cayuga Museum of History and Art. She made many close friends in the Lincoln Street neighborhood, at Lowes, and at the food pantry. Her family, friends, and co-workers remember her as cheerful, enthusiastic, tireless, resourceful, knowledgeable, generous, warm-hearted—and somewhat cluttered in her organizational style.
Betsy is survived by four brothers and a sister, Robert, Edward, Thomas, Kathleen, and Michael, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Condolences and memories may be left at www.robertdgrayfuneralhome.com. Donations may be made to the Calvary Food Pantry in Auburn, NY, https://calvaryfoodpantry.com.

So sorry for the loss of your sibling. It was my privilege to have worked with Elizabeth at Lowe's. She was a fun loving and incredibly generous person. I will miss her sunshiny smile greatly.

My mother Christa von Hassell and my brother Adrian von Hassell were close to Betsy and very fond of her. In New York she spent time with my mother at Art & Auction events and the Armory, and traded notes with her about her knowledge of art and antiquities. I wish I had known her better. I remember as a vivid, cheerful woman who was good at drawing my mother and Adrian out of their habitual shell of reserve. I am very sorry for your loss.

I have so many fond memories of Betsy, working with her at The Winter Antiques show. I was always amazed at her energy and enthusiasm. It was contagious. While we might have only seen each other once a year, I would often email her things that I thought she would be interested in. For those of you who knew her, those interests were wide and varied and I will miss those conversations. Sending my deepest condolences to the family.

My deepest condolences to Betsy's family. Betsy and I were school friends from college in New York City. I enjoyed her visits to New York City when she would invite me to the Winter Antiques show. She was a very vivacious, considerate and kind-hearted friend. I will miss her dearly.

I remember Betsy so fondly. In high school we laughed together about being the oldest of our many siblings. She was always kind, a great listener with a gorgeous smile. May her memory be a blessing.

Betsy and I were good friends in high school. I’m so sorry to hear of her death. I was just looking with fond memories of a photo of her and her parents at my wedding in 1972. Her smile could light up a room. Best wishes and condolences to all of her family.

Betsy was a classmate at JD and a neighbor. I remember her fondly as a buoyant and kind person. She had a smile and kind word for everyone. My condolences to the Boudreau family.

As my partner in Girl Scouts and “mischief”, I could always count on Betsy’s enthusiasm. One such adventure led to our tipping over our canoe while paddling the Erie Canal in March! We just couldn’t stop laughing long enough to stay upright. Her smile and her kindness never dimmed with age.

Betsy was more then just a friend. We met shortly after my daughter was born, thanks to Priscilla. We were roommates for a short time. When I moved into a large apartment building and the apartment next to mine became vacant she became my next door neighbor. She referred to herself as Tanja's (my daughter) godmother. She came to Tanja's violin and ballet recitals. When I had to drive Tanja to UVM from queens, she came along for the ride, and supported me on the almost 9 hour drive, after not having driven in more then 10 years.
We both moved out of the apartment building at almost the same time.
Betsy back home and Tanja and I to our new house in NJ. After that we only saw each other at balls and parties and when she reserved a ticket for me at the antic show at the Armory. Unfortunately after I moved to Pennsylvania we lost contact. Betsy will never be forgotten!

Betsy, or Elizabeth, as I knew her was such a warm, kind-hearted person. Ever ready to listen or help, with the best personality! I worked with Elizabeth for 7 years at Lowe's in the Home Decor department, and miss her every single day. Her smile and her can do attitude were a constant. She will be forever in my and the others she touched at Lowe's thoughts.
