Dr. Sebastian (Seb) Bentivegna, 80, of Skaneateles, New York, passed away on February 13th at Auburn Community Hospital, in the presence of family and friends.
Born in New York City, he moved to Rochester as a child. He graduated from Madison High School in 1955, attended The University of Buffalo, St. John Fisher College, and The New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He practiced Podiatry in Rochester for almost 30 years, before moving to Skaneateles, where he practiced for another 7 years and became an integral part of the community.
He is survived by Carol, his loving wife of 56 years, his children and their spouses: David and Annik; Stephen and Jeanne; Jeffrey and Rebecca; and Paula and Timothy Sullivan; grandchildren Stephen and wife Valerie, Valerie, Kristen, Anna, Wade, Janelle, Joshua, Brooke, Jack, Sebastian, and Jami; and great-grandchildren Sonny and Gabriella. To his family he was King, to his friends – an Ace. To all, he was larger than life itself, and blessed so many with his love, wisdom, and joy.  A great man was lost, and he will be truly missed. We take comfort in the fact that he will never be forgotten, and that his was a beautiful life fully lived.

Dear Family,

Please accept our sincere condolences on the death of your loved one. We too have experienced the grief of losing loved ones, and have received much comfort from the scriptures.

Revelation 21:1-5 speaks of a new earth where sickness, pain, and death will be done away with permanently. Not only that, but, John 5:28, 29 promises a restoring to the dead life with the prospect of living forever under perfect conditions. (Psalm 37:9-11, 29)

Shocked and saddened by the loss of my friend Seb. He was well respected and loved by so many of his Madison High friends who have gathered at Fedele's Brook House Restaurant over the years... just to stay in touch. I will cherish the wonderful memories of the great times we experienced playing golf in the Rochester area. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wonderful family.

I am so sorry about the loss of your loved one. The bible say, Jehovah God will provide comfort when loved ones die. Praised be the God and Father of our Lprd Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trail with the comfort that we receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 jw.org

Carol,
I am so sorry to read of Seb's passing.
We met when you first came to Skaneateles, we had a great friendship. He always greeted me with a smile, and funny story. He was a good man.
I know the feeling of grief you are and will be experiencing, just think about all of your good times together, that's what will comfort you.
My prayers are with you and your family.

Condolences to your family. One may think we will all be forced to confront death sooner or later. Its painful sting has caused many people to search for answers. Why did Jesus compare death to sleep? What can we learn from resurrections recorded in the Bible? Does death end it all?
Acts 24:15 says there will be a resurrection of the righteous and unrighteous. Can you imagine the joy of Martha and Mary when Jesus raised Lazarus back to life?—Read John 11:21-24, 38-44. Revelation 21:3,4 promises that one day death, mourning, and outcry will be no more.

Dear Carol and Family: We had no clue this happened Dr. B was a wonderful man who had a wonderful faithful wife and family. It was my blessing to have had the privilege of working with Dr. B and Carol for the 7 years he was in practice here.I often told Dr.B that, That was the best job and Boss I ever could have had. People still talk about the office we had and how they were treated like family to all of us And to know the family as we did, He was truly blessed by them and loved you all so very much.
Roy will certainly miss their times together hunting sailing rigging the boat and on on. We had not only a working relationship but also a GREAT Friendship.!!
Dr. B. you will be missed rest in peace.
Love & Prayers to all
Jackie

I wish to extend my deepest sympathy to you on the loss of your dear husband. It can be very difficult when you lose your best friend. May you find comforting the loving promise from God that widows will be cared for during tribulations.(James1:27)

It seems so unfair that death should have the power to take away someone you love; and when it happens , the thought of never again being able to talk to, laugh with, or hold your love one can be most difficult to bear. That pain is not necessarily erased by being told that your love one is up in heaven. The bible, holds a out a much different hope. At Job 14:14,15, it says that the God of comfort Jehovah, yearns to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them alive on earth. I really hope this thought brings family and friends comfort.
