Clayton H. Theisen

Clayton H. Theisen died on September 19th at the age of 101. Clayt was predeceased by his wife Marjorie Ferren Theisen and his grandson David Lee Hardy.
Clayt is survived by his daughters Lucille Erlenback (Robert) and Janice Hardy; grandchildren Shelby Erlenback, Paula Sharkey (Rich), Robert Erlenback, Nicholas Hardy (Kate), and Denise Yakutchik (Mike); and great grandchildren Aaron Sharkey, Lyla Sharkey, Amelia Yakutchik, Dacks Hardy, and Hannah Yakutchik
Clayt was the owner of Geddes Oil Co., and Lakeland Garage, and sold Ski Doos, Sea Doos, and Winnebago motorhomes. Clayt was past President of the Solvay Geddes Lions Club and enjoyed hunting with his friends and going on Winnebago camp outs.
Calling hour will be held on Thursday, September 23rd from 10 to 11 am with a service to follow at the United Methodist Church, Skaneateles. Burial in Lake View Cemetery, Skaneateles.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Skaneateles Lake Association Stewardship Program.

I have many fond memories of Clayton, he was a very kind and caring person. My ex-husband (John Johnson) and myself both worked for Clayton when he owned Lakeland Garage. My condolences to his family. May he rest in peace with angels by his side & his own wings on his back.

I did not know Clay personally, but my friend Connie Feeter and her daughter took care of him for 9 years and would always let me know how he was doing.. I'm sorry for your loss of an energetic man, Dad and Grandpa. What a guy..you should all be proud of his accomplishments in his life. RIP Clay.-

Last night we had a SGCLions Club Meeting. We learned by one of out members, Bagozzi, of his passing. Many of us at Solvay, Geddes, Camillus Lions are sorry for this loss. Clayt was a founding member of our Club when we joined forces with the Camillus club in 1951. He was a very active member who was extremely reliable backing up our club’s projects.

We occasionally visited Clayt at his home during the past few years and he would always perk up and wanted to know about what was going on with his Club. He had a great memory about past events and cheered up when hearing some of the “old” stories.

He will be greatly missed by many and we want to pass our condolences to the Theisen family.

When we were young, my mom rented a camp on Skaneateles Lake next door to yours. I have always remembered how nice Mr. Theisen and his family were to us. Our memories of that time remain very special. We are very sorrry for your loss, but wanted you to know his kindness to us is fondly remembered many, many years later. I have been friends with Clayton for 53 years I was his Winnebago Rep for 9 years and maintained that friendship today he will be missed by the many friends in his life

Very sorry to hear about Clayt. I was fortunate to hunt with the Indian Lake hunting Gang a couple of times. Clayt, Phill Richardson, Jim Gilligan, Herb, Warren, Bruce, Mike Edgerton, etc.
Clayt had a great sense of humor and was a lot of fun. I particularly got a kick out of Clayt and Phill arguing over who snored the most the night before. So many laughs, stories and good times. Many thought and prayers to Clayt and the family. I know he touched many hearts.

Clayt was and will always be a dear friend to me and my family who cherished family, friends, and community. He was a most kind, thoughtful, and decent man who generously shared long ago family and Lakeland memories with us. He was one of a kind that will be greatly missed. Fondly.

I am so sorry I did not know Clayton had passed. I would definitely have been at his service. He was one of the members I visited over the years. He was a true gentleman. We always had a nice visit. I will miss him very much. God Bless his family!
